Alchemy Restaurant deserves its high rating. The service is excellent, almost like having an old friend top off your glass of wine. They have an extensive wine list, and dining on the front porch is summer is warm and inviting. If you are lucky, you will have a chance to pet their cat, Robert, who is a sturdy, friendly gray tabby. The breakfast served by Alchemy (that comes with a stay at the Winchester Inn) is creative and tasty. Within the course of 5 days I had panko-encrusted poached eggs fried in truffle oil on a bed of crispy prosciutto and vegetables and pancakes with a lemon cream and blueberries that tasted almost as good as my Norwegian grandmother’s hotcakes. Delicious!
